National Youth Administration (NYA):

The National Youth Administration was one of the multiple agencies that started under the 'New Deal' series of programs initiated by the then President Franklin D. Roosevelt.  

In order to provide employment to the youth between 16-25 years of age, President Franklin D. Roosevelt initiated a new agency under the New Deal program and appointed the Works Progress Administration to administer its functioning. This agency was intended to provide employment to the youth so that they could earn while they learn.
