What was an important concern for the founding fathers when drafting the articles of confederation

I believe a major concern would have been to much governmental control. Since the article of confederation was the first U.S constitution the main purpose was giving some control to the people. Though in making this article of confederation they felt the government was to weak so they re-wrote it, which established the United States Constitution.
