Why did britain colonize ireland way back around the 1600s (or 1700s i cant remember)? i need social, economic and political reasons. like 3 each.

The period of Ireland's colonization is between the years of 1536-1691. During the course of more than a century, Ireland gradually became a British Colony. This changed the island's history forever.

English was introduced as a Language that is still used today. The government changed from a tribal culture to a start-run monarchy.

Socio-Economic Reasons: Many Kings, including Henry, belied that Ireland was a vulnerable island and if conquered by a Great power, can be used to stage attacks on England. This was a fear that was to persist for generations after.

As the countries got closer, money and religion played a huge part. As Ireland was Catholic, many in England believed it was a Divine responsibility to convert the Island and make it Protestant.

Other's saw it as a lucrative market where they can generate tax revenue and sell English goods.
