Why did the missouri compromise need to be repealed for this new law ?

In 1854, the Kansas-Nebraska Act repealed the Missouri Compromise. The Kansas-Nebraska act let white male citizens of the two territories to decide if they wanted to apply for admission as a free state or a slave state.
