Why was the declaration of independence a necessary document for the founding of the new nation

The document was ratified by the Continental Congress on July 4, 1776. Independence of the North American colonies was accepted by the United Kingdom on September 3, 1783, by the Paris peace treaty.

The Declaration of Independence laid the ideological bases for the founding of the United States, by naming the essential rights that would guide the future of the nation: life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. In addition, it designated the foundations of the decision to achieve the independence of the country, based on the abuses by the British crown to the American colonists.
