There is a well know river near Ancient Babylon. That river is known as the Euphrates River. This river is 1,740 miles long and it flows Southeast across Syria and through Iraq.

Babylon was built on both sides of the Euphrates river, It became an independent and important city-state. Its location lies in today´s Iraq, southwest of Iraq .
