How were those loyal to england treated by other colonists?

During the Revolution they were treated fine because the normal percentage of the population were loyalist, not always because they agreed with what the king had to say but because they were afraid of the consequences. They were treated as the higher of the two citizens. Now after the war was over that was a completely different story. People quickly began to bandwagon onto the ideas of like what we had been doing previously, and those loyal to the king were treated as outsiders and sometimes thrown out of their towns for not standing with their new government.
