According to section 2, how were cases involving crimes to be tried?

According to section 2,clause 3 states that trials of crimes shall be by the jury unless its an impeachment.The said trial shall be conducted in the state that the crime was committed,the congress has also the power to set a trials place if a crime is not committed in any state.
