What contributed to the overwhelming majority of french voters that supported louis napoleon and his second empire?

An overwhelming majority of French voters supported Louis Napoleon and his Second Empire because they believed that a monarchy was more stable than a republic. Widespread conflicts and rebellions made most of the voters to support the monarchy in order to avoid such instabilities.
