There are three branches of the United States Government: Legislative branch, Executive branch, and the Judicial branch. Listed under are the terms that relate to each branch in your list. Attached is a more detailed explanation of the answers.

OTHER LEGISLATIVE TERMS on the list:

Approval of Presidential Appointments:

- When the president appoints federal judges, the Legislative Branch has to approve it first.

- The same goes for the treaties that are negotiated. The Legislative branch needs to approve it first.

- They also have the power to investigate the executive branch.

Declare wars:

- Although the Commander-in-Chief of the US army is the President, it is the Legislative branch that decides when the United States will go to war as stipulated in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution.

Make laws:

- This is the most important role of the Legislative branch. It is the Congress where the law are written and discussed. They are then voted on to be passed.

100 members:

- They make up the 100 Senators in the Senate. Each state will produce 2 senators and they are elected by their own states. They each have a 6-year term.

435 members:

- They make up the House of Representatives. The number of representatives of each state will be based on the population of the state. The bigger the population, the more representatives. Census is the body that determines the current population of the state and shift the number of Representatives based on their data.

Amendments:

- Because the Congress is responsible for enabling laws, they also have the power to amend or make changes to the constitution.

Bills:

- Anyone can propose a bill. They are the laws that are in the process of being laws. The Legislative Branch introduces the bill and it is reviewed before it is passed or rejected.

Department of Homeland Security

- It is one of the cabinet departments of the Executive Branch. Here is a list of the different cabinets:
