Usually when we describe any type of tumor, we describe it in four ways. The medical term for a tumor is a Neoplasm. However neoplasms can come in four varieties; In Situ, Benign, Malignant, or Neoplasms of unknown nature. In Situ usually is used to describe abnormal cancerous cells surrounded by other cells.
