Why is logical for the level of fsh to fall greatly following ovulation

It is logical for the level of FSH to fall greatly after ovulation because progesterone is produced after that. Progesterone causes a negative feedback mechanism, which in turn shuts down FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) secretion.
