Responsibility is something that you really want to drill in to your workers for many reasons. A couple of them being they're under your leadership, therefore, they represent you. If they mess up, it's your responsibility to fix and take blame. You also want to develop a sense of responsibility because it keeps them and you safe. You want to make sure they are careful when doing things, and take safety precautionaries. Lastly, they need to have the responsibility to get the job done, because if they're irresponsible, things will not get done, they could get broken, or misplaced, misused, etc... and the job will never get finished.
