It's what makes a person feel worthwhile, for themselves and others. We need love to love ourselves and know that people think about us in a good, lovely way. We also need to belong in our world, otherwise we feel exiled, and like we don't fit anywhere. Which makes us distant, and feeling lonely. And to make a difference. To make us think that we made someone better, or we made someone's life better, so we can feel better about ourselves, and to feel strong that we helped someone even if we couldn't help ourselves.
