Dad: I’m going to go to the store and get some milk. Be right back.

I’m in the kitchen washing the dishes when I hear the doorbell.

I wasn’t expecting any visitors nor I had ordered anything online but I peep at the hole and see an old man who looks a lot like my dad.

I open the door and the man immediately hugs me

Dad: Joyce I missed you so much!

Dad: I got some milk

just then, two young kids pop out behind me. My dad notices them and his eyes widen

Dad: and who are these kids?

Joyce: Dad it’s been 15 years so life changes. These….. (short pause) are my children… Aiden and Genevieve

Joyce: Kids this is your grandpa, my dad

Genevieve: We have a grandpa?

Joyce: Yes sweetheart, he came back after a long trip around the world, he is an explorer. But then he missed his home so much he wanted to see me and meet his two grandchildren.

Aiden: Grandpa has been all over the world? The world is big.

Dad: (short pause trying to think of what to say to elaborate my statement): “That’s right. I’ve been to a lot of places and I happened to buy some chocolate milk”

*Genevieve starts to jump up and down with a smile on her face*

Genevieve: I love chocolate milk

Aiden: Me too! Can I have some?

Dad: of course, let’s go inside and I’ll talk to you about all my adventures while enjoying some chocolate milk.
