Week 2 Assignment Social Justice vs. Market Justice in Healthcare

Assignment Overview

This assignment is designed to give learners the opportunity to create a teachable point-of-view based on what they’ve learned about the tension between social justice and market justice in American society.

What is due:

A presentation detailing the views of the major U. S. political parties (Parties- not candidates or Presidents) on the healthcare debate and drawing those views to comparisons of social and market justice

You will need to include at least the following 4 concepts: Social Justice, Market Justice, Republicans ideology, Democratic ideology.

There’s plenty of information on the news, on the web, and on the street corner about where the Democratic and Republican parties stand on the issue of healthcare reform. Find a variety of sources.
Determine the main points of each party’s healthcare platform (party, not person).
Relate that party’s platform to the concepts of social and market justice. Identify which party’s platform most is closest to advocating social justice and which party’s platform is closest to advocating market justice. Explain your conclusions.
Create a presentation - you must either include a notes page, if using PowerPoint utilize the notes section, or if you want to use a voice over.
Presentations should be no more than 20 slides.
Be sure to cite the sources where you got your information.
If you use pictures, be sure to give proper credit.
AGAIN - YOU MUST USE the notes section of your presentation so that your slides are not overwhelmed with information. This section also shows me your understanding of the topic. If you submit a PDF slide show, include a written narrative.
