For example, you can get grown foods from someone you know (and trust very well) or grow your own food, such as vegetables. But make sure to routinely check and tend to the crops if you are planting them on your own.

Another way to be sure food does not contain foodborne illnesses is to avoid purchasing pre-packaged meats. There is a possibility of the meat containing parasites. To be safe, cook meat at least 140 degrees to kill parasites.

While cooking, make sure to cook the food thoroughly and that it is not rotten. Cook the soon-to-be-served food completely. Also, if you are using anything such as milk, check it's expiration date ahead of time.
