What does it mean when you ask a guy why do you hate me and he responds in a somewhat jokingly manner cuz I just do?

He is most likely just playing and maybe thinks your just asking to be funny? If he can joke with you like this, I would assume you guys have a close relationship and he doesn't hate you.
