It is part of the Vitamin B group. In some people, it causes their urine to turn a yellowish-orange color. 

Riboflavin is LIKELY SAFE for most people when taken by mouth. In some people, riboflavin can cause the urine to turn a yellow-orange color. When taken in high doses, riboflavin might cause diarrhea, an increase in urine, and other side effects.

The freezing point of the ice is lowered because of the rock salt which then allows the ice to observe heat from the ice cream mixture without it melting.
