Every citizen wants to do something for their nation. We should know that we can not change our country in just one day or can eradicate the wrong things alone. It needs a coordinated efforts of all the citizens of the country.

There are some small but awesome things which you can do for your country. It will make you feel proud that through small things, you are doing something for your nation from where you belong to.

Following are some ideological things:

Respect for certain things
Respect your Constitution, National Flag, National Anthem, National symbols etc.

Brings harmony
Promote harmony and the spirit of common brotherhood among all the people of country.

Empower vulnerable section
Empower old persons, womens , disabled persons, childrens homosexuals, minorities, tribes etc so that they can live with dignity and pride in the country.

Preserve rich heritage
Cultural heritage and traditions serve to link us with our ancestors, which is valuable and should not be lost. It is our duty to preserve the rich heritage of our composite culture.

Protect natural environment
It is our duty to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes rivers, wild life, and to have compassion for living creatures.

There are also some practical things to serve your country

Respect the rules and regulations made by the government.
Bring Sanitation.
Do not take/give bribe.
Try to educate people.
Respect other citizens,
Safeguard public property.
Always help in maintaining law and order.
Empower the people about their fundamental rights
As Mahatma Gandhi said that Be the change you want to see in the world. This applies here too. What the change you want to see in your country, you will have to become part of that change. Either you are in India, USA, Pakistan or in any other country, basic human values are same throughout in the world. Therefore stop thinking, start achieving and take command of your life and change your country.
