Sickle cell have lower ability to transport oxygen, therefore more oxygen is given. It should be taken into account that Airway, breathing and Circulation would be met only by applying Oxygen therefore once this domain is taken care of then fluids and pain medication can be given to the patient. As increasing fluid means increasing hydration. Hydration helps to reduce the viscosity of the blood, fluids help with healthier blood flow, pushing away the clots, improving oxygenation and tissue perfusion. Nevertheless one can simply not do any of the other things if the patient is not circulating blood.
