Due to Houston Astros won the 2019 American League Championship Series, and the Washington Nationals won the 2019 National League Championship series; both were nominated to play a best-of-seven playoff.  

Houston Astros started the series playing at home, at the Minute Maid Park venue. On October 25th and 26th the series continued in Washington at the Nationals Park.

On October 30th, Washington Nationals won the series 4-3 playing at the Minute Maid Park.
