Why should you not tell a toddler he is lying when he uses his imagination?

Until kids are 3 and 4 they don't really understand the difference. but if your kid keeps lying to you and knows he/she is  lying tell him not to lie but make sure that he knows he lying before you discipline him. If your child doesn't know that they are lying try to explain to them what is real and what isnt
