Generally nafta and the eu are considered alliances that allow for easier trade for member countries.

They are considered free trade association.  An alliance that merges Canada, Mexico and the United States into a single market and together with an alliance that promotes trade among its member countries in Europe.  Strategic Alliance a partnership that is formed to creative competitive advantage on a worldwide basis, this is a type of alliance.
