depends on the area of the explosion your distance from it and the size and mass of the nuclear weapon, if Russia launched the nuclear bomb known as the tsar bomb and targeted Yellowstone national park or Mt. saint helens it would wipe the western part of the U.S off the map and leave a plume of volcanic ash and toxic fumes across the U.S most likely sending us into a nuclear winter due to the lack of sunlight.
