1. In my opinion, correct answer should be: French and English colonial competition in North America was mainly A.economic. Both of them simultaneously started colonization of North America and both of them were in aggressive conflict, because they wanted to take control of main trade centers. This conflict started in 1701, when Britain took part in the defeat of Louis XIV.

Native Americans who lived in the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence lowlands are called Iroquoians. According to Jacques Cartier's notes they built their villages around grate lakes and forests. It was a good place to settle as there were many animals to hunt and also a good place to gather fish.
