Choose one type of bird to photograph and practice photographing it. Research this species of bird. Choose three of your best photographs and insert them into a word processing file. For each photograph, answer the following question in at least three paragraphs:

What are two facts about this bird that the photograph shows?
For example, if you were to photograph swans, one of your picture/paragraphs might look like this:

A swan flying over water.
Swan. Photo by Lasse olsson, distributed under a CC-BY 3.0 license.

Swans are the one of the largest flying birds. Their wingspan can be up to ten feet from wing tip to wing tip. They can weigh up to 33 pounds each. When a group of swans is flying, they are called a wedge.

The photograph shows the use of lines through the swan’s body and neck. The lines of the wings’ feathers also draw attention toward the swan’s head. The photograph has three major colors: blue, white and orange. With fewer major colors, the eye is drawn to the swan’s orange beak.

The photographer might have been trying to communicate what a swan looks like flying or the gracefulness of the swan’s body. The photographer was successful in showing the swan flying above the water.
