1.2 The government intends to supply water to a number of villages in a hilly rural community. The
plan is to pump water to a central tank which then supplies smaller tanks in each village. The main
supply tank is located at an altitude of 1213 metres. According to the proposed plan the main supply
tank will be 10 meters off the ground. The tank is supposed to supply villages with information given
in the table below.
