Explanation:

Because plant life can't survive well in the polar region also it seems people prefer warmer climate rather than the cold. I did some research about which regions seem to have the least amount of population and several answers popped up including Greenland and Alaska. Which both are cold regions covered in snow and Ice. Also Greenland is 80% covered by a massive glacier.
