Why might a nation become an ally with another nation?

Nations constantly establish diplomatic relations with each other. Many nations, due to their relations of collaboration and cooperation, are allied with others. This means that they share a series of common interests, which align them on the international stage.

For a nation to decide to establish an allied relationship with another, it must interpret possible future benefits as a result of that alliance. These alliances are created based on trade, military, and even ideological relations, and serve to make these nations develop their common interests among themselves.
