The poles also experience days and nights very differently. The tilt of earth’s axis is the reason each pole has continuous periods of daylight and darkness during different season. During summer, the North Pole will experience continuous daylight because the Earth’s axis is tilted toward the sun. At the same time, the South Pole experiences no daylight because it is tilted away from the sun. The amount of light each poles receives is reversed during the winter.
