Idon't see myself as being privileged, i wasn't brought up that way. i am however white which in society means that i do have a privilege. i believe that everyone is equal, whatever i am entitled to others should be as well. if there is someone that has more skills than me when it comes to a job, they should be the one that gets that job. it should not matter what color their skin is or what their cultural beliefs are. i don't agree with the way some people look down on others that are different than them. although there are visible differences between people that does not make them any different to me. we all seem to have been given labels, but we all bleed the same color. our bodies are all made the same way. we all lift things up with our arms, walk with our legs and feel with our heart. i feel that ethnicity becomes more apparent when it comes to jobs. i have seen white people get a job over someone that is more qualified than them because of their skin color. i am a quiet person so i generally don't comment on these things. pretty much the people that i am around these days don't show much favoritism. but i have heard from other people that it does still occur. when i first started working about twenty one years ago i saw a lot of it. people were of a different generation of families and were following what their family members had shown them. that white people deserve anything that is available to them and people of other races and ethnicities can have the scraps. from a young age, and even now i don't agree with any of it. look past the outside of a person to understand what is within them. but i guess that is just me.
