The statement is False. The continents movements was not a cause for earth's heat when earth was newly formed in any ways.  

The movement of continents is due to the movement of tectonic plates that is initiated due to the convective current developed inside the earth surface. The earth's source of heat in the initial phase when the Earth was formed was the radioactive decay of isotopes. During the decaying process, massive amount of heat was generated inside the earth surface.

The heat is also due to primordial heat which is produced during earth formation.
