The climate on Earth has constantly been changing and still continues to do so in the present. There has been different climate phases. Some periods of the geological past have been very warm and wet. The climate has been tropical wet, with high temperatures and high amounts of precipitation. There have been periods that have been much colder, with ice caps expanding much further than the poles, and apart from the lower temperatures, the climate has also been much drier. And there are the inter-glacial phases. In this phases the climate seems to be more diverse, arranged roughly by latitude, it is more moderate in general when compared with the other two extremes.
