That is because volcanism, namely the fissure eruption and vokcanic eruption, is caused due to the subduction of plate.

By plate tectonics, in the destructive boundaries of plates, the denser oceanic plate will subducts under the less dense continential plate under the sinking convection current of magma.

During the process, cracks are formed due to pressure. The magma will then rise along the crack to cause fissure eruption and cools down. As the process of eruption and cooling repeat, a volcano will be formed, hence causing volcanic eruption.

Another thing is that as the subducted plate melts under the extreme heat of magma, extra material for magma is provided which caused eruption to happen more likely.
