Mark is reading a novel and has reached the rising action. what happens to the conflict in a story during the rising action? the tension builds as the conflict becomes more evident. the action of the story concludes, and the conflict is solved. the conflict lessens, and the author introduces the events which close the story. it is the moment of greatest tension, and the conflict has almost been resolved.
