No, the use of standardized testing is almost doing the opposite of improving education in America. When you have standardized testing, it causes American's to study around specific topics and questions. In doing so, it's causing Americans to only become well educated in the categories that the test looks for. Due to strict studying on these standardized tests, Americans aren't well endowed in other topics, which doesn't improve education and instead causes people to be good at studying and not good thinkers.
