He is embarrassed at first. He is hesitant to ask to help his mother, and when he has done a good job on the first try and is praised, he is embarrassed again. He suggests doing going out to play with his friend, something that is more "masculine" to do.

Later, he is no longer embarrassed. When his dad mentions that many famous fashion designers are men, he takes pride in his abilities. This pride is showed even more when he tells his friend that he can get him a over-size soccer ball just like the one (he has made for himself).
