The structure of a Shakespearean sonnet contains three quatrains (stanzas of four lines, with alternating lines rhyming). (Rhyme scheme: ABAB / CDCD / EFEF). Then, at the end, there is a rhyming couplet--two lines that rhyme with each other. (This completes the rhyme scheme with GG).
