In the essay “The Higher Education of Women,” Cooper argues for the education of women. She provides a feminist argument in which she examines the sentiments against this activity. She wants to prove that educating women has a great positive impact on societies, and in order to prove this, she studies the lives of women who were able to pursue careers. This is why Cooper uses anecdotal evidence. She hopes that by providing this evidence, she will be able to convince more people of the benefits of education.

on the other side of the picture, we must learn also to know that guerilla warfare against the germans in, let us say serbia or norway, us; that a successful russian offensive against the germans us; and that british successes on land or sea in any part of the world strengthen our hands.
