If a Republican presidential candidate from the South is considered unsupportive of women’s rights, he might “balance the ticket” by choosing a woman as a running mate.
This would at least give the women an outlook that even though a president isn't supportive about the notion on women's right. It would provide equality and equity for every citizen since the government was made for the people and not an interest for one individual.
