Plagiarism is taking someone else's work and not crediting them but using it for your own gain. Plagiarism is when you use someone's else's words or work. there is one way you can cover up plagiarism and that is by changing it up a little bit and making it your own. the concequences could be really bad. you could be withdrawn from a class, given a 0 on the assignment, given a f in the class, and in many serious situations you can be put in jail. you can avoid it by making your work yours and not using others words or work.
