Who is the speaker in “the lady of shalott” by alfred, lord tennyson

In the poem "The Lady of Shalott" by Alfred, Lord Tennyson, we discover that the speaker is an unknown figure. He is unnamed and unidentified. As the speaker lacks a specific identity, we cannot really know who this speaker is. However, we do know that he is a figure who is greatly interested, moved and affected, by the events in the story. We also know that this speaker can observe everything, and therefore, is aware of all the small events of the  story.

Although the speaker of the poem "The Lady of Shalott" is unknown, it could be interpreted that whoever is speaking is the same who put the curse on the lady.

Explanation:

The poem is narrated by someone we don't know, but who seems to have information that nobody else has. Another clue is that the speaker seems to enjoy what happens with the Lady of Shalott, for the way the story is told and the rhythm it has, as for example can be seen in the following lines:

     Under tower and balcony,

     A pale, pale corpse she floated by,
