Every year, Kate’s family gathered for a reunion. It was the one week when all her family members would get together and catch up. They came from every corner of the globe. That’s what made the occasion so special to Kate. Her older brother and sister were studying in other countries. Her uncle had to travel all over the world for his work. And her aunt was always busy with her job. Even Kate’s parents had time-consuming careers. But every reunion, Kate would get to spend time with all the people she loved.

They shared meals together and a lot of laughter. Each of them would share stories about the fascinating experiences they’d had during the year. The stories about their adventures and funny incidents would brighten Kate’s mood like nothing else. At night, they watched movies or played games. Sometimes they turned on music and danced to different tunes.

The reunion would be so enjoyable that it would fly by quickly—too quickly for Kate. The moment the reunion ended, Kate would begin looking forward to the next one. That’s how much the yearly event meant to her.
