OF MICE AND MEN One of the novel’s many motifs, marginalization, are fully developed in this chapter. Marginalization can often occur in many different ways. All of the characters left behind in chapter 4 experience some form of discrimination.

Directions: In a 1-2 paragraph response, briefly summarize the events from chapter 4 and then select two characters that experience discrimination. Explain the marginalization that these two characters face and provide textual evidence.

Explain: how this quote supports your point. (10 pts)
Repeat #3-5 with your second character (25 pts)
Concluding statement: Provide final thoughts regarding marginalization and wrap up your paragraphs.(5 pts)
