In the end, he saved Andromeda, and Medusa's head turned Perseus to stone, and Perseus was anointed King of Seriphos. However, things were different for Perseus in the beginning. Acrisius, a king, stepped in front of an oracle and listened to his fate. The Oracle foretold that his descendants will control a powerful nation through his daughter. It further stated that he had no sons, but that his daughter would bear a son, and that boy would be his demise. This revelation frightened Acrisius, and he went out to murder his daughter Danae.
