for your specific examples.

The text reveals that the narrator has formed a strong bond with the family she works for. In the line, "but after these two years I've wedged my way into their hearts" shows two things. First, the phase "wedged my way" shows that the narrator has made a strong
effort to be in relationship with the family. Second, the phase "into their hearts" shows that the family has accpeted her as one of the family. Thus, we can infer that the narrator has created a strong bond.
