Problems with Digital Textbooks
While digital learning is trending throughout the world, some argue that print textbooks are still the best option for schools. Those who favor print textbooks claim that tablets are expensive, create too many distractions, and allow excuses for not completing work.
Digital textbooks require hardware (such as tablets), Wi-Fi, and training for teachers and administrators. All of these require money. In fact, including all the costs of digital learning, it is much more expensive than the average print textbook. This doesn’t even include maintenance and repair, which can be very expensive for technology. On the other hand, print textbooks can usually be fixed very inexpensively, with glue or tape.
Many students admit to multitasking while on digital devices. Instead of working on their assignments or paying attention to their teachers, students can look at apps, check email, play games, and visit websites. All of this puts too much strain on the brain’s mental load. Students have difficulty processing, storing, and retaining new information when they are multitasking with the technology.
In addition to distractions, tablets also provide the opportunity for excuses to not complete work. When using a tablet, students and teachers can encounter technical difficulties like freezing, crashing, and running out of battery power. Tablets are also more likely to be lost or stolen than textbooks. There is also a need for Internet service which isn’t always reliable. These issues can hinder students from completing their assignments.

Which two lines in this sonnet use symbolism to describe old age? sonnet 2 by william shakespeare when forty winters shall besiege thy brow, and dig deep trenches in thy beauty's field, thy youth's proud livery so gazed on now, will be a totter'd weed of small worth held: then being asked, where all thy beauty lies, where all the treasure of thy lusty days; to say, within thine own deep sunken eyes, were an all-eating shame, and thriftless praise. how much more praise deserv'd thy beauty's use, if thou couldst answer 'this fair child of mine shall sum my count, and make my old excuse,' proving his beauty by succession thine! this were to be new made when thou art old, and see thy blood warm when thou feel'st it cold.
