After completing the readings for this unit, now it is time to evaluate ourselves as leaders. You are approaching the end of your high school career, and it is time to answer the following questions: What leadership skills have I developed?
What leadership qualities will I take with me from high school?
How do I know if I am developing the academic skills that I will need in my future life?

Think about the characters that we have encountered over the last several weeks. We have analyzed, evaluated, and critiqued many facets of their lives. Now we need to take inventory of our own. More than likely many of you have begun to apply to various colleges. These colleges want to know what you have to offer them. It is not always easy for us to analyze, evaluate, and critique ourselves, but we have had practice, so it should be easier. Take a minute to think about some of the leadership qualities that you look for in an individual (feel free to look at the checklists you have created throughout the unit). Select three of those qualities that you feel you exemplify. You will use those to develop your thesis statement and the body of your essay.
