many is the pronoun that is used in this sentence. many is a quantifier that determines the amount of discoveries. when we use quatifiers followed by nouns, they act as determiners, but when they are used without a noun, as it is this case, they are pronouns.

it's 2 in the morning and i would love to u but my current resources are limited (i can't flip between google and docs for an hour) a good resource is rhyme zone it finds synonyms, defines stuff, counts syllables, and looks for rhymes. i can u edit it and mess with syllables but i can't write an entire sonnet right now (it's thursday, well actually friday morning)
